- Set up and troubleshoot DICOM connectivity between POCUS-OS, hospital PACS systems, and modality worklist (MWL/MPPS) endpoints.
- Coordinate network routing, firewall rules, and site-to-site VPN configurations with hospital IT and network teams.
Compliance & Security
- Ensure all integrations adhere to HIPAA requirements for PHI transmission, access control, and audit logging.
- Apply awareness of HITRUST, and hospital-specific security policies when engaging with client IT security teams.
- Participate in vendor security questionnaires and due diligence processes as the integration subject matter expert.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in healthcare IT integration roles (integration engineer, implementation specialist, clinical informatics engineer, or similar).
- Strong working understanding of HL7 v2 messaging (ADT, ORM, ORU) and FHIR R4.
- Practical experience with DICOM C-STORE, C-FIND, C-MOVE, MWL, structured reports, and PACS connectivity.
- Experience integrating with Epic and/or Cerner.
- Familiarity with HIPAA technical safeguards and experience working within compliant environments.
- Ability to work directly with hospital network and security teams on VPN setup, IP whitelisting, port configurations, and firewall rules.
Preferred
- Exposure to medical imaging workflows: radiology, cardiology, or point-of-care ultrasound.
- Familiarity with integration engines such as Mirth Connect, Rhapsody, or Microsoft Azure Health Data Services.
- Basic scripting ability (Python, Bash, or similar) for log parsing, data transformation, or automation.
- Experience with SAML 2.0 / SSO onboarding in a hospital context.
Key Skills
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced startup environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy.
- Strong communicator able to engage confidently with both clinical end-users and hospital IT/security stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and documentation-driven; you leave every project with clear records.
- Collaborative team player who can work across time zones with a distributed engineering team.
- Proactive problem-solver who doesn’t wait for escalation to find a path forward.
